Background:

SE divorced Don and came back to live in Dallas. Miss Ellie asked her to stay at Southfork until she could find a house. SE has been there for a six months, let’s just say she can’t find a suitable house for her and John Ross, who is about 15 now. JR was thrilled to have them back, and JR and SE have been getting along very well. JR is hiding the secret that he wants her back for keeps. However SE still doesn’t know how he feels about her, although they are quite flirty with each other. Scene opens with JR asking SE to escort her to a charity function that everyone will be at.

Oh, also JR is head of Ewing Oil, and Sue Ellen is a therapist in this story. Let’s say she became a psychiatrist while in London, so she is now Dr. Ewing, weird I know, but stay with me. When she opened her practice in Dallas JR suggested she rent space in the Ewing Building, so she is located on the floor below Ewing Oil. JR and SE have lunch together frequently, and he visits her occasionally in the office.

CHPATER 1

SE office:

Sue Ellen is working on her computer, typing up patient files. JR knocks on her door.

SE: “Come in.”

JR: “Hello, darlin’. Am I interrupting anything?”

SE: “Not really. You’re a welcome distraction. What can I do for you?”

JR: “You don’t have a crazy people to talk to this evening do you?.”

SE: “JR, I’ve told you to stop calling them that. They are not crazy. They just need some guidance. But no I don’t see patients on Monday’s.”

JR: “Ok, ok. I won’t call them crazy. Will you be my date for the caritt dinner tonight?"

SE: “That sounds great. Besides you shouldn’t call them crazy. One day I might get you on my couch.”

JR: “Darlin. You can get me on your couch anytime you want, as long as you’re on there with me, and you can keep your secretary out of the office for a few hours. I’ll see you around 7, at the house.” (winks as he leaves)

SE just grins and goes back to work, looking forward to 7:00.



CHAPTER 2

Southfork Ranch.

SE is in her room getting ready. She is dressed but still kind of deciding what she wants to wear. JR is leaning against the doorframe with hands in his pockets, and a song is playing on the radio.

SE is a long white sparkly gown, JR in a tux. SE has her hair down, and JR speaks.

JR: “You look beautiful.”

SE: “Thank you. You always did look handsome in a tux. Are you ready?”

At the restaurant:

They walk in and everyone says hello to them and tries to talk to SE. That same song is playing.

JR walks over to the bar and SE comes over and asks him to dance with her. They move to the dance floor and JR puts his arms around her waist and holds her close.
SE puts her head on JR’s shoulder and thinks how good it feels to be in his arms again. JR is thinking the same but neither says anything.

Chapter 2B

The song ends, but they are still holding on to each other, then everyone claps for the song so they sit down for dinner. At their table is Bobby and Pam, no she isn’t dead in my story, Ms. Ellie and Clayton, Dusty, and John Ross and Christopher. Dusty asks SE to dance. JR gives him a death look, but SE considers Dusty a friend so they move to the dance floor. He puts one hand on her waist and holds he other hand. It’s a little too intimate for JR’s taste but he wants to prove to SE that he’s changed.

As the song is playing Dusty is flooded with feelings. SE is thinking about JR. Dusty asks if there is a chance for them, but she tells she can only be his friend. He tells her he understands and says that he will always be there for her and he will always love her. He gently pulls her in for a hug and kisses her lips lightly, but a little longer than a peck. JR gets up as the next song plays and cuts in.

JR: smiling that smile of his “All I need is a chance darlin’. I won’t mess up. I love you too much to be without you.”

They leave the charity dinner a little early and head home. They sit on the porch and talk a little more.

Chapter 3

SE and JR decide to go up to bed since they both have to work tomorrow. JR walks SE to her bedroom.

JR: “I know you’re not ready to take this relationship to the next level. I’ll wait until you are. Just know I’m ready when you are. If you were ready, I’d take you right here in the hallway, that’s how much I want you. But I also want it to be special. I love you Sue Ellen, and when we make love again, it’s going to be better then the first time.”

JR pulls SE into a passionate kiss. His tongue pushes its way into her mouth and she welcomes the intrusion. His hands roam from her waist to her backside, which he squeezes. Sue Ellen’s arms go around JR’s neck and he pushes her against the wall. Electricity and passion burned through both of them. SE & JR hadn’t been with each other for 5 long years. Both had been celibate for the past 6 months. JR was rock hard and SE was ready for him. She wanted him so much she ached for him, and he for her. She slipped his jacket off of his shoulders and onto the floor. He lifted her off the floor and was about to take her into the bedroom. However, they both heard the family come in from the party. Breaking away from their passionate embrace, JR still held SE. Both were breathing heavily. SE gave him one last lingering kiss and slipped inside her room, closing the door behind her. JR picked up his jacket and used it to cover his painful erection. A cold shower was in order for them both. John Ross came around the corner and said goodnight to his father. As John Ross went to his bedroom, he smiled. It was only a matter of time before his parents got back together. Then his family would be prefect. Maybe he’d even get a sibling out of them.

Chapter 3B

JR’s bedroom:

After a fairly long cold shower, JR settled in for the night. He looked at SE’s picture beside his bed and thanked God for this chance to prove his love to her and make her happy. He swore he wouldn’t waste a second. He fell into a slumber with a smile on his face.

SE’s bedroom:

After a cold shower SE’s body was still tingling. She started to go over to JR’s bedroom, but knew she shouldn’t. No, passion was never their problem, and she wanted it to be right. After 5 years, it would be wonderful, but now wasn’t the right time. She hoped it would be soon, or else she’d have to stop at the adult toy store. She slipped into bed nude, and went to sleep with a smile on her face.
Chapter 4

Dining room the next morning.

SE came down to breakfast dressed in her business suit, it was a light blue mini skirt w/ matching jacket. JR couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Everyone noticed, including Ms Ellie and Clayton. JR said he had to get to work, and SE got up as well.

Out on the patio.

JR: “I’ll see you for lunch?”

SE: “Sure. I’ll meet you in your office at 12:00.”

JR: “Ok. Did I tell you how beautiful you are?”

SE: “No.”

JR: pulling her close and whispering in her ear, “Well you are still the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on, and I love you more than my life.”

SE: “I love you too.” Putting her hands on his face, she kisses him goodbye and walks to the car. JR walks behind her so he can enjoy the view of her hips as she walks. He imagines being able to let his hands roam all over her body.


SE’s office 10:00 am. She has a new patient named Parker Richardson. SE thinks he looks familiar but decides to ignore the feeling. The appointment goes well, and she finishes up his new file. She decides this is a very troubled young man and will need extensive help. It is almost 12 so she decides to leave to go to JR’s office. As she exits her office, Parker watches her get on the elevator.

JR’s office

SE walks in and JR has an elaborate lunch set up in the office. He gives the girls the rest of the day off and Bobby is out of the office on business.

SE: “Wow. What’s all this?”

JR: “Lunch darling. I thought we’d get more privacy this way.”

SE: smiling, “Why JR Ewing are you trying to seduce me?”

JR: “Hell yes. But that will be icing on the cake. I want the whole deal Sue Ellen. I want you as my wife. I won’t rush you, but I won’t lie either.”

SE: a bit overwhelmed. “JR, I think I want that too, but I’m not ready for marriage with you yet. Can you handle that?”

JR: “Yes. As long as you love me, I can handle anything. Now, come on woman, I’m hungry.”

SE laughs and they enjoy their lunch. The radio softly playing in the background, JR asks SE to dance.

JR pulls Se close. His hands slowly slide around her waist, and her hands instinctively find their place around his neck.

JR: “I love dancing with you. I think this should be a new tradition, dancing at noontime everyday.” Laughing as he spins her around and dips her. “What do you think?”

SE: “I think you are a genius and it’s a great idea.”

JR and SE spend the next hour dancing and kissing and groping. Reluctantly they both pull away and kiss goodbye and go back to work. As SE leaves JR’s office Parker is still watching her intently.

Chapter 5

Pam and Bobby and JR & SE decide to double date and go to dinner and dancing. JR & Pam are starting to get along, since JR is a change man. Sue Ellen and Pam are best friends, and Bobby & JR have become closer.

At the dance club:

The place is not too crowded, but there are a few people there. SE & Bobby are dancing:

Bobby: “You look happy. Are you sure this is what you want, to be with JR?”

SE: “Yes. I have always loved him Bobby. Do you think he’s changed?”

B: “I know he has. He lost everything when you took John Ross to London with you and got married. That’s when it hit him. You are his life Sue Ellen. He loves you, and he won’t mss up this chance with you. Besides if he does, I’ll beat him up for you.” They both laugh as the song ends.

JR & Pam cut in.

The song starts to play and JR wraps his arms around SE.

JR:, pulling her closer, “Ok. But I have to warn you, the first time I have you again, you’re in trouble woman. I won’t give you a moments rest, and we’ll both be screaming each other’s names. Maybe we should go to the lake house when we decide it’s the right time.” Sue Ellen smiles and rests her head on his shoulder as they have one last dance.

They end the night at SE’s bedroom door. JR gathers all of his self control and kisses her gently, but passionately.

Both fall asleep with big smiles.

Chapter 6 – Friday morning breakfast at SF

JR knocks on SE’s door and doesn’t get an answer so he walks in. She is just coming out of the shower with nothing but a robe. JR takes a huge breath.
SE: “Good morning. Did you sleep well.”
JR continues to stare.
SE: “JR. What is wrong with you?” walking towards him.
JR: backing up, “Sue Ellen, stop right where you are. If you come within my reach, that towel will be on the floor, you’ll be on the bed, and I’ll be inside of you before you can even blink. I’ll wait for you out in the hallway, and we’ll go down to breakfast.”

JR walks out, while SE giggles to herself as she gets dressed, all the while thinking she should have just thrown the towel off herself and jumped him.
JR & SE walk down together. Pam has invited Cliff to breakfast because they have a meeting to go to. When JR turns the corner he stops dead in is tracks.
JR: “Who the hell invited you to breakfast?”
Cliff: “My sister. Sue Ellen, you look wonderful.”
SE: “Thank you Cliff.”
Cliff: “Maybe we could have dinner, catch up.”
JR responds before SE can.
JR: “Barnes, you’ve been playing catch up your whole life. I can catch you up on SE’s life. She belongs to me, end of story. That’s all you need to know.”
JR: “Darlin’ how about we get some breakfast in town? It will be a better atmosphere” grabbing SE’s hand and pulling her out of the room.
SE: in the car: “JR must you always start with Cliff when you see him? I love you, not him.”
JR: “SE I know that. But he still irritates me, like a fly that won’t stop buzzin’. Darlin’, I can’t help it if I get jealous. I know you love me, but I’m not blind. Men look at you as much as they did when you were Ms Texas. I know you don’t want them but I still don’t like them looking at you. As for that idiot Barnes, I don’t want you having dinner or anything else with him. Its bad enough you want to be his friend, woman. Please don’t ask me to accept you having lunch dates with that idiot.” He pouts and leans over and she kisses him, laughing at his pout.
SE: “You are so adorable when you do that. But from now on, if we see him, can you just ignore him? “
JR: “Yeah, I’ll just concentrate on you instead.”
SE: laughing, “Come on, let’s get to work.”
As they enter the Ewing Building, SE’s mysterious patient is lurking, staring at her while they walk hand in hand.

We follow him home, to his apartment. It is actually a ritzy condo, and has room filled with a shrine of SE. He gets ready for his appointment with Dr. Ewing. JR & SE are kissing in the elevator when it stops on her floor. Hey kisses her goodbye and they both start their day.

A few weeks later in time.

Parker arrives for his appointment at 11. SE is believes he his getting better, but requires a few more appointments. As Parker leaves he runs into JR, who is coming to get SE.
P: “Hi, are you one of Dr Ewing’s patients?”
JR: “Patient?”, laughing. “Hell no boy I’m her husband.” (not yet, but JR has always thought of her as his wife.)
P: forcing a smile, “Oh, nice to meet you.”
JR pretty much blows him off. He goes to SE’s office.
JR: “Darlin’, you have to warn me when I’m gonna run into one of these wack-jobs.”
SE: giving him ‘that look’, “Who did you run into?”
JR: “I don’t remember his name, SE. He just creeped me out. Plus he asked if I was a new patient. Do I look like I need a shrink?”
SE busts into laughter, “I’m sure many people who know you would recommend you see one. I’m ready to start our little get away weekend, are you?”
JR: “Yeah. Let’s go.”

JR & SE have made plans to just get away and go to the lake house. It is on Ewing property, but I’m making it so it’s an hours drive or so from the main house. It has a fireplace in the living room & bedroom. Lavishly, but tastefully decorated. It has a hot tub, and the lake is about 100 yards from the house.
JR: “This is gonna be great. Just me & you.”
SE: “Yes, I think we needed to get away.”, walking through the door.
He takes their bags and puts them in the bedroom.
JR: “It’s still early, how about a ride by the lake”
SE: “Sounds good.” Holding hands they leave.

It’s about 6 in the evening when they get back. It had rained so they were both soaked, both of them in white shirts and jeans.
SE open the cabin door and the room is softly lit with candles, the fireplace is going, and the radio is playing.

SE: gasps “JR this is beautiful. When did you have time to do all of this?”
JR: “Honey, I’m JR Ewing”, both laughing. “Let’s get out of these clothes.”
It’s storming outside. JR quickly changes into his robe. SE comes in a silky blue mini nightshirt, which buttons down the front.
JR: “Dance with me?”
SE: moves into his arms, and knows instinctively this is where she belongs.

JR: “Say Momma, what’s for lunch, SE and I worked up a hell of an appetite.” He grabs SE’s hand and walks over to the table of food.

Bobby: “I bet you did.” still laughing. Pam elbows him and tells him to be quiet.

They all enjoy a nice lunch. At The end of it JR pulls SE out of her chair.

SE comes out of her dressing room dressed in a cream colored suit, knee length skirt, slit in the back, with a blazer to match. JR grabs her as she comes out and kisses her from behind. JR kisses SE goodbye and says he’ll drop John Ross off at school. “I’ll see you at lunch darlin’” he calls to her as he leaves.

JR and John Ross are in the car.

John Ross: “Dad, when are you and Momma getting married? “

JR: “I don’t know Son, but I want it to be soon. How would you feel if we had another baby?”

John Ross: “That would rock, Dad. I can’t wait till you get married again.” Father and Son laugh and bond.

JR pulls up in front of the Ewing Building and spots the newspaper. He and SE made front page with news of their nuptials. It’s still early, so he decides to see her before he goes to his office. He buys the paper and goes in. Parker buys the paper as well and is visibly angry after seeing the headlines….

JR walks into SE office unannounced since her receptionist isn’t in yet. SE is bending over a file drawer and JR is tempted to take her, but knows there isn’t enough time.

Still bending over SE calls out to him: “Don’t even think about Ewing. Carly (SE’s receptionist) will be here in about 15 minutes and then I have a patient in 30 minutes.”

JR: “How did you know I was here?”

SE: “That’s fine. What would you have done if I said no?”

JR: “Kept him there anyway. I want you protected.”

SE: laughing “At least you’re honest about it.”
JR kisses SE goodbye at the elevator and goes up to his office.

JR goes in and Sly tells him he has a visitor that insisted on waiting in his office. JR goes in and the visitor is sitting on JR’s couch. The man stands up when JR comes in.

JR: extending his hand, “JR Ewing.”

Man: “Nice to meet you. I’m Tyson Shepard, but everyone calls me Ty.”

JR shakes his hand. “Well Ty, what can I do for you.”

Ty: “I’d like to see my daughter.”

JR: “Excuse me?”

Ty: “My daughter…your wife.”

Meanwhile…in SE’s office. Her appointment is Parker. When he comes in, you can see he is Peter Richards. SE stands up from getting a file and turns around to greet him. When she looks up she is speechless.

P: “Hello Sue Ellen.”

SE: “Peter..What are you….How are you…??”

P: “Can we sit?”

SE: still not knowing Parker and Peter are one in the same “Yes, please. How have you been?”

P: “Well. I ran a dot com business a few years ago and sold it before the bottom fell out. I mad a substantial profit, so I’m great.”

SE: “That’s wonderful. I’m happy every thing worked out for you. What are you doing in Dallas?”

P: “I’m here on business, and I read about you in the paper yesterday.”

SE: “Oh, well it is good to see you again.”

P: “SE how can you marry that ass again? After everything he did to you, to me, to us. We could have been happy.

SE: “Peter, you’re not a child anymore so stop acting like one. JR is different now. I am sorry for what he put you through. That was partially my fault. He has always been jealous. I should never have gotten involved with you, but I felt guilty that you wanted to quit school because of me. I couldn’t let that happen, so I did what I thought was right at the time. JR did what he did because of me.”

P: “That doesn’t make it right.”

SE: “No it doesn’t. We’ve both made many mistakes through the years, but we’ve moved on. You need to as well. Look at you, you’ve done so well. Woman must throw themselves at you.”

P: “Not the woman I want.”

SE: “Peter, you don’t love me.”

P: “Yes I do.” and proceeds to tell her the exact things that Parker did.

SE: “Oh my God. You’re Parker Richardson?? Why? Why would you go through all of that?”

P: pulls out a gun “To see you SE. To be able to be close to you. I think we can have a life together. We can just leave I have money.”
In the outer office, the guard hears SE call for him but Peter locks the door. Carly calls JR right away, and then the police.

In JR’s office he is arguing with Ty.

JR: “My wife doesn’t have a father. He gave up that right when he left her as a child.”

Ty: “I had to. I wasn’t ready to be the father she needed. Now I am”

JR: “Tough shit. She doesn’t need you. She has a family now. How do I even know you’re telling the truth? I don’t know you.”

Ty: “I have proof that I’ll show to SE”

JR: “Well that will tough to do, cowboy. Because you won’t be getting near her.”
JR’s phone rings.

JR: pushing the speaker phone “JR Ewing”

Carly: “Mr Ewing, it’s Carly. SE is in trouble”

JR flew out of the office before she could say anything else, getting Bobby and not waiting for the elevator and taking the steps two at a time. Ty is closely behind him. JR barges into SE’s outer office. He tries her door, but it’s locked. Carly tells him exactly what happened and lead him to a small room off the waiting room. It is set up with a video feed from SE’s office. JR sees who is in there with her. “Oh my God.”

Ty: “Who is it? Who is in there?”

JR: “Shut up. This doesn’t concern you.”

The police come in and set up the SWAT team on the roof of the Ewing building and of the room across the street. They look at the video and explain to JR what their plan is. They will kick in the door and have someone rapple off the roof into the window at the same time.

JR: “No way. SE could get caught in the crossfire. Now way are you putting her in anymore danger.”

Police: “Mr Ewing we know what were doing.”
Bobby pulls JR aside and hands him his cell phone. “Call her. See if she’ll answer.”
JR calls SE. Peter tells her to go ahead and answer, since he doesn’t know the police are here yet. SE says hello.

JR: “Thank god. Are you ok? Just say yes or no.”

SE: “Yes”

JR: “Listen the police are here. They are going to come busting in there any second. When I tell you to, get away from the window and the door. Go into the corner by the couch, ok?”

SE: “Yes. Thank you.”

JR: “I love you, and I swear I won’t let anything happen to you. It’s going to be ok.”

SE: “That’s sounds fine Carly. Just cancel my appointments for the rest of the day then and if John Ross calls tell him I love him and I’ll see him at home. Yes, I’ll hold on”

JR smiles into the phone. “Ok darlin’. They’re almost ready. Have I told you how much I love you lately? I swear when you get out of this you’re taking a couple days off, and we’re setting a wedding date.”

SE: “That sounds good to me.”

JR: “Okay, honey I can see you on the monitor. Walk over now.”

SE: “Ok.” Hanging up.

JR: “No don’t hang…Damn it. When I get her out of this I’m going to wring her neck for hanging up on me.”

Bobby smiles: “JR she’s going to be fine. You guys have too much to live for. You’ve been through too much.” He clasps JR’s shoulder in a brotherly way.

JR throws up a quick prayer and then there is an explosion of glass and wood as the door splinters in. All of the sudden there is an explosion of gunfire, and SE screams. JR races in to find SE cradling Peter, who has been shot in the chest in her arms. JR starts to go to her and Bobby pulls her back. “She needs to do this”

P: choking on blood “i……sorry SE. I…wouldn’t have..hurt..you. I….love…..you.... just wanted...you....to love....me.”

SE: crying “I know Peter, it’s alright.”

P: “Forgive me?”

SE: “Yes Peter, I do.” Peter takes his last breath.

The paramedics come in and bag up Peter. When SE stands up she is covered in Peter’s blood, she has a few cuts from the glass, but is unharmed. She is looking straight into JR’s eyes. Neither makes a move. He is scared that she may blame him for what happened.

Will you forgive me again?
I don't know what I said.
But I didn't mean to hurt you.

I heard the words come out.
I felt that I would die.
It hurt so much to hurt you.
Then you look at me.

You're silently broken.

JR takes a tentative step towards SE, as tears stream down her face.

JR now stands in front of her silently pleading with her. She looks at him and falls into his arms. JR’s body sags with relief as she whispers to him, “I love you JR.”

A tear slips from JR’s eye as he holds her close. “I love you.” Pushing her away from him, he check her over “Are you ok? Is any of this your blood?”

SE: “No, I don’t think so.” She grabs on to him as the room spins and grows dark. The last thing she hears is JR screaming for paramedics.

Will you forgive me again?

CHAPTER 12B


The paramedics transport SE to Dallas Memorial. JR goes in the ambulance with them, while Bobby calls the family to meet them at the hospital. Ty decides to stay out of the way but still goes to the hospital. In the ambulance they see that a bullet passed through SE’s side. JR holds her hand until they won’t let him go any further in the hospital. They rush her into surgery. JR slumps against the wall and slides to the floor.

He hugs his knees and offers every prayer he can think of. He begs God not to take her from him after everything they’ve been through.

The family arrives. They see JR in the hallway. Ms Ellie tells the rest of the family to wait in the waiting room. She goes to JR. He looks like a lost little boy. She kneels in front of him.

JR looks up, “I can’t lose her Momma. I won’t make it without her.” She simply pulls him into a hug.

He composes himself and they go to sit with the family. Bobby, Pam, Clayton, Donna, and Ray. JR paces back and forth. The doctor comes in and says that everything went fine. The bullet only grazed her side, although it was fairly deep gash that required 10 stitches. He takes JR to her room. Bobby tells the family to they should go home because JR will be spending the night. JR is by SE’s bedside holding her hand and talking to her.

JR: “You hung up on me. I didn’t tell you to hang the phone up, you know. You never listen, woman." smiling, "Come on darlin’, I really need you to wake up and look at me.”

JR falls asleep leaning his head on the bed. SE wakes up and sees him. She touches his hair and he wakes up. “Hey handsome. Been here long.”

JR just looks at her and smiles while a tear escapes and then he can’t hold it in.

SE holds him. SE: “JR, it’s ok….I’m okay."

The doctor comes in and speaks with SE and JR.
D: “Well it’s good that you’re awake. I have what I think will be wonderful news.”

SE: “I can go home?”

D: “Funny. Yes you can in about 2 days. But the news is that we had to run routine tests when you came in. Congratulations you’re 3 weeks pregnant.”

SE: “For once JR Ewing is speechless. Doc you get big points for managing that.”, smiling.

JR: giving SE that stern look but not being able to hold it, “Wait till you get out of here.”
SE laughs but stops because it hurts a little.

D: “You won’t be able to do any strenuous activity for 3 weeks and I want to see you back here in 10 days for a wound check.”

SE: “Ok, but if I promise to take it easy can I go home tomorrow?”

JR: “I’ll make sure she does nothing at all for a solid week, and then I’ll be sure she takes it easy.”

D: “How about we see how you’re feeling tomorrow.”

JR: “ok. Thanks Doc.” The doctor leaves.

SE: “You should go home and get some rest.”

JR: “Right. You know damn well I’m not leaving you tonight.”

SE: ”Well, then I guess you better give me a kiss because I’m a little worn out.”

JR kisses her with all the loves he feels for her. “Go to sleep, sweetheart. You’re safe, I’ll make sure you stay that way.”

SE: drifting off, “I love you.”

JR just sits in a recliner by her bed just watching her and brushing her hair back. The door opens and Ty walks in. JR just looks up at him, turns back to SE and says quietly. “I don’t know if you are her father or not, but I’m not in the mood or right frame of mind to deal with you and neither is she. If you are her father, then I’ll tell you that she is going to be fine. It was a flesh wound. Now that you know that, I want you out of here before she wakes up. She can’t deal with any of this right now. Before you go, let me clue you in on something. I love SE, more than even she realizes and I promise you, if you aren’t her father and you hurt her in any way, I’ll kill you.”

Ty looks at JR and quietly backs out of the door. Truth be told JR Ewing just scared the hell out of him, with how he had threatened to kill him so calmly. He also didn’t have a doubt JR would kill him if he hurt SE, but he had no intention of doing that. He just wanted to be a part of her life.

JR wearily sits back in the chair and wipes his hands over his face and blows out a long breath. Putting SE’s hand in his he thought that he could gladly do without another day like today. He was also going to talk to SE about screening her patients and getting much more security if she was going to continue working. No compromises. JR knew she would flip out if he demanded she quit. He smiled a little, she was going to flip when he put metal detectors inside her office, but there was no compromises on that either. She’d have to be mad for a while, but he would make her see it was only to protect her. A baby. Hot damn. They were going to have another baby. Damn, it was also going to be a long 3 weeks. He wanted nothing more than to love this day out of both of their memories. 3 weeks without feeling her,loving her, tasting her,being inside of her. Christ it was going to kill him. I'll be taking a lot of cold showers, he thinks as he drifts off to a sleep and dreams of the wonderful things they will share during her pregnancy.

CHAPTER 13 nc-17

SE wakes before JR and watches him while he sleeps. The doctor comes and checks her out and says she can go home as long as she listens and absolutely no strenuous activity. She can do the stairs once a day. SE asks the doctor if she can work from home, and before the doctor can answer JR speaks up, “No.”

SE laughs, “Well looks like my soon to be husband is awake and listening in on my conversation.”

JR: “Well you should have woke me up when the doctor came in.”

SE: “Well you needed your rest.”

JR: “Well…”

DR: “Enough. SE you can go home. No strenuous activity, including arguing. See me in 5 days so I can check your wound. 10 days and I’ll take the stitches out.”

JR: smiling “See now you can’t argue with me.”

SE: “Oh we’ll see. Help me get dressed.”

JR brings SE home and the whole family is gathered there to welcome her home. JR lets SE rest downstairs for a few minutes, but then carries her upstairs to bed. He sits her on the bed while he gets her some clothes to change into. He comes to the bed and kneels in front of her, putting his arms around her.

They both lay down and JR wraps his arms around her holding her tight without hurting her.

She whispers “I love you. Don’t ever doubt that. I saw it in your eyes yesterday. You thought I would blame you.”

JR: “Yes.”

SE: “I didn’t and I still don’t. This was Peter’s fault, no one else’s. It was a tragic event, but he still chose his actions. I love you.”

JR: “God SE, I love you so much.”

They drift off to sleep in each other’s arms, counting blessings once again.

CHAPTER 13B
It’s been a week, and SE is going crazy. JR won’t let her to do anything. He took off the whole week to be with her, and he is driving her insane. JR comes back from taking John Ross to school. SE is sitting in a lounge chair. JR comes over and asks how she’s feeling.

SE: “The same way I was feeling before you left.”

JR: “Ohh, someone’s in a good mood.”

SE: “JR, you’ve been smothering me since I’ve been out of the hospital. I’m fine, I’m not an invalid.” She gets up and starts to walk in the house. JR grabs her arm.

JR: “Now wait a damn minute, honey. I’m not gonna apologize for wanting to make sure you’re okay and safe. I don’t care if I have to follow you around like a lost puppy until the doctor gives you the ok.”
SE pulls away from him. “Don’t pull away from me.” And he grabs her again.

SE pushes away from JR but he loses his balance and falls in the pool. He comes up sputtering. SE stands there looking at him soaking wet. They both start laughing. JR gets out of the pool and SE hands him a towel.

SE: “JR, I’m sorry. I’m just going crazy not being able to do anything.”

JR: “I understand. I’ll try to give you a little space okay.”

SE: “ok.” JR hugs her and goes upstairs to change.

JR walks through the house dripping water.
MS Ellie: “JR what happened to you?”
JR: “SE.”
Ms E: “SE?”
JR: “Yeah, she got a little upset with me, and I ended up in the pool, but it’s ok.” He continues upstairs.
Clayton sees him. “Who pushed you in the pool this time?”
JR: “SE. She’s a little upset about being cooped up.” Clayton just starts laughing.
Bobby sees JR. “What the hell……”
JR: “SE pushed me in the pool.” Bobby laughs so hard he doubles over. JR just looks at him, “Shut up, Bob” He goes into the room to change.

SE has her 10 day check up and the doctor says everything is going great. JR says he’ll get her prescription refilled. SE asks the doctor about sex. “I don’t see why not as long as you’re very careful. No acrobatics.”

SE: “OK, thanks.”

JR and SE make their way home. He drops her off and says he’s going to run into the office for a few hours.

SE: “Okay, I’ll see you in a few hours.”
JR: kisses her “I love you”
SE: “Love you.” This is perfect. I’ll have time to do something special.

JR comes home and heads upstairs. JR walks into candle light and soft music. SE is standing in the middle of the room in a white negligee which is see through across the abdomen and lace on top.

SE: “Hey.”

JR: smiles, “What’s all this?”

SE: “The doctor gave me the okay to….you know. As long as you’re gentle. He specifically said no acrobatics, but I figure we can save them for later.”

JR: eyes lighting up “You look beautiful”

SE: “I know it’s your favorite. I’m sorry about the bandage, but it’s the best I could do.”

JR: “You look beautiful, bandage and all.”

SE: “Dance with me?”

JR throws his jacket on the chair and takes her in his arms.

JR smiles wide "Can you believe it? We did it, we made a baby that night. You make me so happy"

JR: “Oh.” SE hands him a piece of paper, which is a calendar with a date 3 weeks from now circled in red, rolled up. “What is it?”

SE: “Our wedding date. Is it okay with you?”

JR: pulls her close “Yes, darlin’. It can’t be soon enough for me.” They finish their dance.

SE unbuttons JR’s shirt and takes it off. He slips the straps of her nightgown off her shoulders and it falls to the floor. They kiss softly and he picks her up and carries her to the bed, laying her down gently.

JR takes his pants of and softly kisses his way down SE’s body being extra careful of her wound and kisses back up. He softly takes each nipple, sucking gently.

SE: “JR, I need you. Please, love this all away for me.”

JR enters her softly and remains still for a moment looking deep into her eyes. “I love you SE, I love you.” He begins to move so slowly and gently, afraid he’ll hurt her.

SE: “God I’ve missed you. Missed how good you feel inside of me….so good”

JR increases his pace a little. SE gasps and JR asks if he hurt her.

SE: “No, I’m close”

JR: “Damn SE, I have missed you so much, you feel so good. I would die without you.”

With a few more gentle thrusts, JR takes them both over the edge and they explode.

SE: “Oh god JR.”

After laying in the glow of candles, JR holds SE close and both bask in the afterglow of their passion.
